Dr Brian Friel

Dentist

Brian graduated from Queen's University Belfast in 1992 and came to DJ Maguire and Associates in September 1995. He practises general dentistry, both private and NHS.

Brian believes in placing a strong emphasis on the prevention of dental problems, and that good communication between dentist and patient is key to achieving good outcomes.

Brian is married, with three sons. He enjoys music, reading, playing his guitar (badly), and coaching with his sons' junior football team.

Dr Stephen McConville

Dentist

Stephen graduated from Queen's University Belfast with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery Degree in 2001. He has worked with DJ Maguire & Associates since 2002.

He practices general dentistry, both NHS and private and is a firm believer in retaining natural teeth where possible. Stephen seeks out training and professional development opportunities that allow him to remain aware and knowledgeable about new dental practices and the latest technology being considered or used. He understands that many people are anxious about dental treatment and so aims to ensure that their visit is as comfortable as possible.

Stephen is married, with one daughter. He has a keen interest in foreign travel, enjoying visits to Asia when possible.

Dr Heather Topping

DENTIST

Heather graduated from Queen’s University Belfast with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2003, with a distinction in Practice of Dentistry. She was awarded the John Malone medal for clincal excellence in conservative dentistry and the Dentsply Pharmaceutical Award for overall excellence in final examinations.

She has been a member of the dental team at DJ Maguire & Associates since 2004. She has a gentle and friendly manner and enjoys all aspects of dentistry. Heather’s warm personality and ability to put patients at ease have enabled her to help people by improving their confidence through providing a wide range of dental treatments.

Heather has achieved extensive postgraduate qualifications. In 2009 she was awarded a Diploma in Restorative Dentistry at the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Then in 2011 she was awarded the Diploma of Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Heather qualified in 2013 for the Master of Science with Merit in Clinical Dentistry (Restorative Dentistry) at Leeds University. She is one of only a few dentists in Northern Ireland to hold this prestigious qualification. Her interest in dentistry is wide-ranging and she continues to further her knowledge and skills by attending regular training courses.

Dr Orla Dynes

DENTIST

Orla graduated from Queen’s University Belfast with a Batchelor of Dental Surgery Degree with distinction in Paediatrics, Orthodontics and Preventative Dentistry in 2005.

Orla joined DJ Maguire & Associates in 2006 and completed post graduate exams in London to become a member of the Joint Dental Faculties. She practices general dentistry, both NHS and Private and enjoys treating the whole family especially children and patients with additional needs.

Orla is married with two sons. In her free time she enjoys family walks along with shopping and singing in the local choir.

Dr Aoife Donnelly

DENTIST

Aoife graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Queen’s University Belfast in 2003. Following her foundation training year Aoife went on to work in general practice in Belfast before moving a little closer to her native Armagh and joining DJ Maguire & Associates in 2006.

Aoife enjoys all aspects of general dental practice providing a wide range of both NHS and private treatment for her patients. She enjoys providing care for the whole family and has a relaxed and gentle approach to her clinical work.

Aoife keeps up to date with regular training courses and continuing professional development.

Outside of the surgery Aoife spends her time with her husband and young daughter. Her interests include travelling and skiing.

Dr Nicola Montgomery

DENTIST

Nicola qualified as a Dental Surgeon from Queen's University Belfast in 2011 with Distinction in Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology. After qualifying, she completed two years of General Professional Training. This involved providing treatment in General Dental Practice in DJ Maguire & Associates, treating children under General Anaesthetics within the Community setting in Mid Ulster Hospital Magherafelt and Hospital placements within the Restorative and Orthodontic Department at the School of Dentistry, Royal Victoria Hospital Belfast. She also spent some time in an Oral Surgery Clinic in Belfast where she gained valuable experience within this field and in treating patients under intravenous sedation.

Nicola became a full time Dental Associate at DJ Maguire's and Associates in 2013. Nicola completed her post-graduate MFDS in 2013 and is a member of The Royal College of Surgeons in Glasgow. She recently completed her Pg Diploma in Conscious Sedation at King’s College London in 2021 and passed with distinction. This involved working within the Special Care Dentistry Department at Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospital London. She is currently working towards her Pg Dip in Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry with Monik Vasant and plans to complete her Masters in the next few years.

She is committed to updating her continuing professional development by attending post-graduate lectures and courses.

Dr Christopher Minnis

DENTIST

Chris qualified as a dental surgeon from Queen’s University, Belfast in 2011. After qualifying he joined the team at DJ Maguire and Associates as a vocational trainee in 2011, and has continued to work as an Associate dentist at DJ Maguire and Associates and in our sister practice, North Street Dental Care since 2012.

Chris has completed his Diploma of Membership of the Faculty of Dental surgery and is a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. He is committed to updating his professional development by attending post-graduate lectures and courses. Chris enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, with a keen interest in minimally invasive restorative techniques.

Outside of work he enjoys travelling and spending time at the coast- walking and surfing.

Dr Maire Gallagher

DENTIST

Maire graduated as a Dental Surgeon from Queens University in Belfast in 2016. She completed her vocational training in Belfast and joined DJ Maguire and Associates in 2017 as an associate dentist. Maire is currently completing her MJDF qualification and has a keen interest in minimally invasive restorative dentistry.

Maire enjoys running, travelling and reading.

Dr Beccy Anderson

DENTIST

Beccy graduated from Queen's University Belfast with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery Degree in 2018. She completed her clinical training year in Edinburgh. She has recently joined with DJ Maguire & Associates.

Beccy enjoys practicing general dentistry due to the variety of patients she engages with and treatments required. She enjoys being able to treat children and anxious patients as well as elderly patients.

Beccy enjoys keeping active from walking her dogs to playing team sports. She enjoys travelling to foreign destinations and exploring new cultures. She also enjoys skiing in the winter months.

Dr Nina Haveron

DENTIST

Nina grew up in Scotland and graduated from University of Glasgow Dental School in 2015. She spent her first six years working in a busy family practice in the west of Scotland. She then moved to New Zealand for 18 months in 2021, working full-time as a dentist during the week and doing as much camping, hiking and swimming as possible on the weekends! She returned to the U.K. in 2023 and settled in Northern Ireland.

As a dentist Nina likes treating young and old across a variety of procedures, both NHS and private. She particularly enjoys helping anxious patients feel more comfortable and giving them back confidence in their smile.

Outside of work, Nina is having fun exploring around her new home and seeing the beautiful countryside on offer.

Dr Hannah Glover

DENTIST

Hannah-Rose graduated from Queen’s University Belfast in 2024 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Surgery. Hannah-Rose enjoys all areas of Dentistry and working with the general public, she looks forward to working with patients who are anxious and putting them at ease. Outside of Dentistry Hannah-Rose enjoys travelling, running and is a keen golfer.
